2016 vinyl reissue marking 30th anniversary of Crowded House' s self-titled debut LP!

Formed in Australia and led by New Zealand born Neil FinnCrowded House shot to fame with massive hits like "Don't Dream It’s Over," "Fall at Your Feet" and "Weather With You." After playing their farewell show in 1996, the band reformed more than 10 years later to release the albums Time on Earth (2007) and Intriguer (2010). Originally issued in 1986, the band's platinum-certified self-titled debut was produced by Mitchell Froom and is home to the aforementioned name-making smash "Don't Dream It's Over" plus further definitive fare like "Something So Strong," "Mean to Me," "World Where You Live" and "Now We're Getting Somewhere." Cut from the original analogue tapes at Abbey Road Studios and reissued here on 180g vinyl in celebration of Crowded House's 30th anniversar

After gradually assuming a front-and-center role in brother Tim's band Split Enz, native New Zealander and transplanted Australian Neil Finn moved firmly into a leadership position with Crowded House, a trio whose debut album appeared in 1986.

Slightly more mainstream than his new-wavy Split Enz work, the record nonetheless evinced signs of darkness (the No. 2 Billboard hit "Don't Dream It's Over," "World Where You Live," "Hole in the River") among more chipper numbers such as "Something So Strong."

Often gorgeous, Crowded House proved to be the group's biggest release in America, which didn't seem to have a radio home for them after the success of "Don't Dream" and "Something." They disbanded in 1996.
