Available on Vinyl for the First Time Since the Album's Original 2000 Release!

Formed in 1984 by Jesus & Mary Chain drummer Bobby GillespiePrimal Scream released a pair of albums - Sonic Flower Groove (1987) and Primal Scream (1989) - before the group's landmark opus Screamadelica took home the first-ever Mercury Music Prize in 1991 and profoundly shaped the UK's pop musical landscape for more than a decade with its hallucinatory blend of dance, dub, techno, acid house and rock.

When Primal Scream's Xtrmntr came out in 2000 as the last album on Alan McGee's legendary Creation Records it made quite a stir. McGee must have told the band to take the label out out with a bang and boy did they deliver. Xtrmntr is punk flavored anarchism mixed with a big beat rumpus, a sonic protest against the self-righteous and unchallenging indie-music of the day.

Or, as NME put it when placing the album at the No. 2 spot on the best albums of 2000 behind only Radiohead's Kid A, "rarely has anger been so beautifully managed." With Xtrmntr Primal Scream produced indignation you can dance to, proving themselves well ahead of their time in the process.
